Motion Path in 3ds max [Video Tutorial]

:::August 7, 2006:::

This tutorial first I made the text version and then I made the video version. So you can use either of them!

Motion Path in 3ds max is simple but hard to find! Well in this tutorial I'm gonna show you how to apply a camera to a Circle Spline.

First make a circle with 125 radius at the origin. Then make "Target Camera" with the target at the origin. Now select the camera (NOT the target of the camera) and click on the "Motion Tab". Open "Assign Controller". Select position and hit the "Assign Controller" button "The little question mark button". In this new window, select "Path Constraint" and hit "OK". Find the "Path Parameters" and click on "Add Path", then select your circle spline. Now right click once to deselect the "Add Path" command.

You're done! Scroll the time line and you'll see you're camera is moving at it's path. To direct where the camera is looking you can keyframe cameras target point...

Have fun!
