Making 3D Logos in Photoshop [Video Tutorial]

:::August 7, 2006:::

This tutorial has video and text version. Enjoy. :)

Yes that's right. We're gonna make a 3D logo in photoshop!

  1. Make a logo. Just a simple one for now. The logo shoule be in ONE layer only.
  2. Select the logo layer and click "Edit" > "Transform" > "Perspective" OR instead of "Perspective" you can use "Scew". Drag the arrows (handles) so the logo is tilted (3D-Like). When you're happy with it, press "Enter" to apply the changes.
  3. With the logo layer selected, go to "Layer" > "Layer Style" > "Blending Options". In this "Layer Style" window, Check "Bevel and Emboss" and you are more than welcome to change the settings if you want. Then click "OK".
  4. Make sure that your Logo layer is selected and your "Move" tools is activated.
  5. Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Arrow Up" a couple of times until you're happy with the depth of your logo. (You can also use "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Arrow Up" + "Arrow Left" or "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Arrow Up" + "Arrow Right" to make it like angled view...).

Here you have it!

The last thing you have to do is either put all the logo layers in one folder OR to select the top logo layer then "Shift" "Select" the most bottom logo layer and press "Ctrl" + "E" to merge the layers down to one layer.

Try it out ;)
